YA Book Display: Anti-Valentine’s Day

I'm a few days late posting this but I wanted to share what my TAB group put together for an Anti-Valentine's Day display in the Teen Space. They did a great job, and some patrons even added their own  heartbroken literary character names to the list!

Summer Scratch Tickets for Teens!

Originally posted on Teen Services Underground  This summer I completely changed things up for the teen program with scratch tickets! I had bookmarked an excellent post from 5 Minute Librarian and decided (kinda last minute) to just go for it. My numbers for Teen Summer Reading have been pretty steady over the past few years … Continue reading Summer Scratch Tickets for Teens!

PotterFest 2017!

It's that time of year again - Harry Potter's Birthday is, today, July 31st! And we celebrate every year at our library with a themed party. In the past, I've called this program "Harry Potter's Birthday Party" but I changed it up this year and renamed it "PotterFest." The new name seems more appealing to … Continue reading PotterFest 2017!

TSU Feature: Ukulele Club!

Gift Book Review ~ Me: A Compendium by Wee Society

I bought this for my cousin's almost-seven-year-old daughter for Christmas and I just had to share how cool this book is! It's a … Continue reading Gift Book Review ~ Me: A Compendium by Wee Society

Yesterday I attended the 8th Annual Teen Summit in Worcester, MA. As always, I was very impressed with the speakers and with the incredible organization of the entire thing by MLS staff. Apparently there was a record attendance this year, which just goes to show how many libraries / librarians are interested in learning how … Continue reading “They’re here….”: Teens in the Library

Harry Potter Club

A very talented person made the original picture on her computer and printed it out to put on a lightswitch plate. I took the picture of her finished product and printed it out (making it … Continue reading Harry Potter Club

The Dark Unwinding by Sharon Cameron My rating: 4 of 5 stars I received a copy of The Dark Unwinding at BEA this past spring and I was eager to read it. Mine didn't have the pretty cover, but I had a postcard with what it would look like. I defintely really enjoyed reading this … Continue reading YA Fiction Review

Can you name the Harry Potter fact based on the previous answer? Good quiz! I didn't get to finish it because I was watching SNL on demand. Definitely will be attempting it later 🙂 http://www.sporcle.com/games/crookshanks/harrypotternamechain

Hunger Games!!!! (i.e. YA Book Review)

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins My rating: 5 of 5 stars You know, I was kind of worried about reading this again because it was just so amazing the first time. But enough time passed that I was a bit fuzzy on some of the details, so I had to re-read it before the … Continue reading Hunger Games!!!! (i.e. YA Book Review)
